Why families love Crescendo

A joyful place to learn and grow

I want every child to leave class smiling and excited to come back. Here is how we make that happen.

Learning that feels like play

We learn through games, movement, and singing, so kids stay engaged and remember what they learn.

Real musical skills

Your child will play songs, read music, and keep a steady beat, building a foundation that lasts.

Confidence that grows

I meet every child where they are and help them feel capable, encouraged, and proud of their progress.

What makes Crescendo different

What classes look like

Kids don't just sit at the piano. They sing, move, play games, listen, create, and learn real piano skills step by step.

At Crescendo Piano Academy, children do not just sit at the piano the whole class. A group class may include singing, movement, rhythm games, listening activities, piano playing, and time to create music together.

Students may clap a beat, move around the room, play a music game, take turns at the piano, or work together as a group. The goal is to help children learn real music skills in a way that feels fun, active, and age-appropriate.

This is real piano learning, taught in a way children actually enjoy.

Meet your teacher

Hi, I'm Akera!

I started piano lessons when I was 8 years old. Like a lot of students, my lessons were very traditional, full of scales, exercises, and pieces at the piano. That training gave me a strong foundation and I am truly thankful for it. But once I started teaching, I saw how much more children light up when music is active, playful, and fun.

I wanted my students to do more than sit and play notes. I wanted them to sing, move, play games, listen, and create. That is why I started Crescendo Piano Academy. Whether your child is in a group class or a private lesson, my goal is always the same. I want to create a warm, encouraging place where kids grow, gain confidence, and genuinely love making music.

School year & schedule

The 2026 to 2027 school year runs from the week of August 17, 2026 through May 28, 2027. Every student has a set weekly day and time saved just for them. I share a full studio calendar with holidays, breaks, and the end of year make up week before the year begins. Summer lessons and camps are separate, and summer enrollment opens in April.

Tuition & payments

Monthly tuition holds your child's weekly spot for the whole school year. It is an annual amount split into equal monthly payments rather than a per lesson charge, so your payment stays the same whether a month has more or fewer lessons. Tuition is due on the 1st of each month, and August is due before the first lesson. I accept the MyMusicStaff Parent Portal, Zelle, Venmo, or cash. Books and materials are separate and are non refundable once purchased.

Attendance & make ups

Since every student has a weekly spot reserved just for them, missed lessons are not refunded or deducted from tuition. When your child misses, you can send a short video of their current assignment within one week and I will give personal feedback, or you can use the end of year make up week for up to two in person make ups when available. If I ever need to cancel, that lesson will always be made up or credited.

Practice at home

Kids grow the most when music becomes a natural part of their week. Just a few focused minutes several days a week makes a real difference. Piano students will need a piano or keyboard at home to practice on.
